Family Tree Introduction by Tammy
I created this family tree and memorial site because I believe our history matters, not just to remember those who came before, but to give future generations a clear map of how we’re all connected. This is the heart of genealogy: preserving knowledge for those who will one day care about it.
I was raised by my paternal grandparents. My grandfather was a quiet man, gentle but passive. My grandmother, by contrast, was verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive. Together with my father, she forced my mother out of the home and away from both me and my brother. Years later, my father admitted what they had done, but by then, the damage had already been done.
I still carry love for my relatives (living/deceased) in a quiet, deep way. There are some fond memories of all my relatives that I carry with me. But love and some fond memories doesn’t mean I owe them silence or performance. I’m not religious, but I live by values. I’m not perfect, just honest. And that’s enough. Creating this site has been part of reclaiming my voice, my truth, and my peace.
