Lucille (Stafford) Stanley was the daughter of Van Dow Stafford (1907–1992) and Ethel (Biggs) Stafford (1909–1983) of Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee. She was one of several siblings, including her brother P.J. "Pete" Stafford, Tammy’s father.

Lucille married James D. Stanley (1934–2008), and they had one daughter together. She passed away from lung cancer at the age of 69.

Note: Woody and Cora were divorced at one point. Cora later married Lorenzo Dow Stafford Sr. (1858–1940) and had children with him before remarrying Woody. Woody also had children from other marriages and outside of marriage. Both Woody and Cora are buried at Denson Cemetery in Gainesboro.
