About My Grandmother

Ethel Biggs was born on August 13, 1909, in Jackson County, Tennessee. She married Van Dow Stafford (1907–1992). They had several children together, including my father, P.J. Stafford.

They lived in Gainesboro, Tennessee, and later in life, both of my grandparents raised me and my brother, Timmy Lee Stafford.

• Ronnie Stafford
• Rhoda (Stafford) Williams
• Lucille (Stafford) Stanley
• Jean (Stafford) Ashley
• Three other children who passed in early childhood

Ethel passed away on July 8, 1983, at age 73. She is buried beside her husband Van at Pharris Cemetery in Jackson County, Tennessee.
